Meet Fah & Peep - MUIC International Buddy Program

Finally, we meet! After days of anxiously awaiting my MUIC buddy assignments, I spent the most lovely evening with my new buddies, Peep and his girlfriend, Fah, who were so sweet and welcoming! And by sweet, I mean as the sweet as the chocolate brandy ice cream we had to complete our dinner at a local restaurant. I feel more welcomed by Thailand than ever. Spicy Thai food with new friends was exactly the thing I needed after a long day of class. Following dinner, the ice cream shop served us the craziest, yet most delicious, flavors of ice cream...including vodka Redbull, Nutella, banana cheese, beer, and as referenced earlier, chocolate brandy. I once was blind but now I see! So yummy!

What is a MUIC buddy you ask? A Mahidol buddy is a full-time MUIC student who partners with inbound study abroad students during their study at MUIC. The buddy program offers students who are available to give advice, and provide resources, cultural adjustment assistance and guidance regarding the day-to-day aspects of studying in MUIC. A buddy helps to reduce the initial confusion and uncertainty faced by all study abroad students. A buddy also supports the student by allowing them to focus on specific issues. I know that Peep and Fah will be such a wonderful resource while I am here, as well as marvelous friends! I am so lucky to have them!
