Another wonderful day in paradise! Yesterday was a bit of a late start because of our trip to Pattaya for the New Year! Once everyone was up and ready to go, half of the squad took Bangkok by storm by visiting Siam Paragon for some shopping and dinner. Cloud 47, a gorgeous rooftop bar, was next on our list. After taking two tuk-tuks to our destination, we enjoyed the evening with a few beers and some cocktails while overlooking Bangkok in all its wonder.
This morning and afternoon was a fun time at the Chatuchak Market (JJ Market). Here, we were able to eat even more yummy food while experiencing the daily life of the locals in Bangkok as they shopped for all kinds of foods and other goods. At one point we entered a section for buying pets. Though the puppies were too cute to resist, we somehow managed. Instead, I picked up a purple and red Betta fish that now swims happily around in his new tank on my bedside table. I have decided to name the little guy Yut, which in Thai means war...because he is a Betta haha. We have little fishy chats and are now very close friends.
I couldn't believe all of the food that is available at the Thai markets! Though things like cricket and larva aren't exactly up to my personal taste, I can't help but notice their similarity in taste to chips and other salty snacks! As tourists, we must remember to always try and be open minded to new experiences and different adventures...because in Thailand, there is NO such things as weird.
Off to Hun Hin tomorrow morning! Can't wait!
